“The store did have a surprise visitor last night, entering through the front door. After the deer left, the manager and store team performed a thorough cleaning of the area,” Kroger said in a statement.
The deer ran down aisles as surprised shoppers grabbed their phones to record videos, sending the deer into viral stardom for the day.
While employees tore after it, the deer managed to leave the store on its own, but not before crashing into product displays and jumping over the meat counter.
“I hope, in her time near the meat case, the deer noticed our expanded selection of plant-based protein products.”
